It is advisable to migrate to Google Analytics 4 (GA4) as soon as possible.
Here’s why:
- The earlier you migrate, the more historical data and insights you will have in Google Analytics 4.
- On July 1, 2023 all standard Universal Analytics properties will stop processing new hits.
- Also note that on July 1, 2024, Google's premium 360 Universal Analytics service (which is charged for with tier-based pricing) will stop processing new hits.
- GA4 is being promoted as an upgrade of UA. This is a very broad generalization because GA4 is a different tool with a new data model. The technical basis is the same, but the tool is a unique product with numerous features that should be perceived with an open mind and not compared to UA.
Therefore, it is recommended to make your switch to GA4 as soon as possible to start collecting data with the new tool.
The sooner you start, the more value and insight you'll get from it.
Important note!
Before you start the migration process, we’d strongly recommend you carry out your own due diligence and familiarise yourself with what migrating to GA4 could mean for you. It’s also a good idea to consult the team who manages the technical side of your website for their knowledge and expertise, as we have done for our Broker Mentor website.
