When you search online, how long do you give a website before moving on?
8 seconds is about the UK average.

People scan-read websites, so at a glance, if your homepage doesn’t immediately answer your potential customer's question, solve their problem or fulfil their need, then most will move on (usually to a competitor's website).
Ask yourself:
- Is our customer proposition crystal clear?
- Is it concise?
- Is the proposition (the benefit-led headline message) totally focused on exactly what value the potential customer will gain from using our business?
- Is this message the first thing that visitors will read when arriving on our site?
- So, within seconds of arriving on your website, is it immediately clear how you will solve their problem/fulfil their need?
