Use LinkedIn to target individuals in specific sectors:

  1. Review your prospect targeting and segmentation strategy.
  2. Calculate who are your 'best' customers.  What is their profile?  What is their lifetime value to the business?
  3. Go to LinkedIn.
  4. Research the different LinkedIn groups that are relevant to each sector/business group that you are targeting.
  5. Join each of the groups.
  6. Get involved in the conversation.
  7. Once in a while, if you have something on your website that is valuable and relevant to the discussion make a reference to the information and provide a link.
  8. This will draw relevant prospects to your website, and help to position you as an industry expert.
  9. Make sure that the link includes ways for visitors to contact you (email and telephone).
