Your local newspaper will respond positively to something relevant and valuable to their readers.
Meet with your team to brainstorm ideas. Here are four examples to get you started:
- CrashMate
For example offer to give away a CrashMate branded with your logo to the first 100 people who enquire about car insurance.
- Money off coupon
You could also get your local media to cover a partner/joint venture that you set up with, for example, your local gym. Here people might get, say, a month’s free trial coupon, plus a discount on their life insurance for as long as they remain a member.
- Fitness wristband
‘Walk to our office and collect your free fitness wristband.’
- A branded, risk free umbrella, with a clear panel (so you can see where you are going in driving rain)
Look for the unusual but relevant. For example giving away ‘free salt’ just before snowy/icy weather arrives may fit very well with the sort of image you wish to project - and costs very little.
