Do your homepage images engage with potential customers, or drive them away?

  1. Is your homepage primarily visual (acting as a support to the proposition, which needs to be the primary focus)?

  2. Does it make a good first impression?

  3. Consider the visual message you’re trying to convey.

    Is your objective to position your business as:

    • Local to them? or national?
    • Particularly friendly?
    • Highly professional?
    • Dynamic?
    • Modern?
    • Corporate?

  4. Images to avoid:
    • City skylines and office skyscrapers
    • Stock shots of anonymous, model business people (who typically look American).

  5. Images to consider in order to engage with your target audience:
    • A recognisable image of the local area - if your audience is local.
    • The friendly faces of the people in your firm – if customer service is your primary USP.
